Summit Organization Committees

National Organizing Committee

The National Organizing Committee of the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, sets the policy and direction of the 2nd APWS and invites the Asia-Pacific Water Forum to jointly develop the agenda and invitation lists. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand is the secretariat of the National Organizing Committee. The Chair of the National Organizing Committee appointed sub-committees to ensure smooth preparation and execution of the Summit and related events:

  1. Sub-committee on Operations and Logistics (chaired by the Permanent-Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment);
  2. Sub-committee on Scope and Program (chaired by Dr. Apichart Anukularmphai);
  3. Sub-committee on Security and Traffic Control (chaired by the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police);
  4. Sub-committee on Protocol and Facilitation (chaired by the Director-General of the Department of Protocol);
  5. Sub-committee on Public Relations (chaired by the Director-General of the Department of Information); and,
  6. Sub-committee on Joint Secretariat (chaired by the Deputy Permanent-Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment).

The 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit has been organized in close collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Water Forum through meetings of the APWF Governing Council chaired by Mr. Tommy Koh, Ambassador-At-Large of Singapore.
